Founder, SilicAI Consulting
Before founding SilicAI, I spent the bulk of my career at Epic Systems — the dominant electronic health records company in the United States — as a software engineer, product lead, and engineering manager. I designed enterprise software products that shipped to hundreds of healthcare organizations, led development teams, and spent my final years there focused entirely on AI-powered automation.
That AI work is the most direct foundation for this practice. I designed and implemented LLM-based automation systems with measurable outcomes: an AI-powered bug triage system that reduced team workload from hundreds of hours of manual effort to tens — an order-of-magnitude improvement. AI-assisted development workflows that multiplied individual output by 5x to 20x. Automated code review assignment, performance review drafting, and desktop automation integrations — all built, deployed, and running in a production enterprise environment.
My background also includes deep healthcare domain expertise: the clinical workflows, data sensitivities, patient-facing systems, and operational realities of healthcare organizations that most AI consultants simply don't have. Before Epic, I founded and ran Luhala Group, a software consulting firm, and conducted research in distributed systems and internet protocols at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
I hold an MBA, an M.S. in Computer Science, and a B.S. in Computer Science (Cum Laude, Tufts University). The through-line across all of it: building software that works in the real world, with real constraints, for real users.
